The four-stroke Yamaha High Thrust engine is designed for tasks requiring greater power, such as pushing a large pontoon, giving a multispecies boat additional propulsion, or navigating a sailboat through a packed marina. With their larger lower units and higher gear ratios, these outboards—which come in 60, 50, an all-new 25, and 9.9 horsepower—produce far more thrust than traditional outboards with the same horsepower utilizing regular propellers. The Yamaha High Thrusts actually generate up to 60% more thrust forward and up to 70% more thrust in reverse when used in conjunction with our Dual ThrustTM propellers, which are standard on our T25 and T9.9 models and optional on the T60/T50.
